" Before I forget... " – a phrase we all know. A thought we want to hold onto, a story we still want to tell, or a moment that suddenly transports us to another time.
But what happens when memories change, blend, or disappear altogether? When the familiar suddenly seems strange, and feelings linger even though the stories they tell have long since faded? And what remains when all the memories that define our identity vanish?
In "Before I Forget...", choreographer Antonin Comestaz creates a fascinating world between remembering and forgetting, reality and fantasy. Fourteen dancers weave together the traces of human memories in a poetic interplay of dance, music, and space. At times playful and humorous, at others enigmatic and poignant, the evening unfolds as it explores the fragility of our memories and what truly defines and connects us.
