This solo is inspired by the intriguing properties of the gömböc. A gömböc is a spherical, homogeneous object that has only one stable and one unstable equilibrium point. The gömböc is also the most stable form that exists when disturbed; it's only a matter of time before it goes back to sleep. For choreographer Antonin Comestaz, this object and its specific properties form a poetic metaphor for the human psyche - a certain duality or paradox between peace and confusion. In the recent context of self-isolation, in which many of us have experienced some degree of disorientation, Antonin, together with dancer Ema Yuasa, explores where the boundary lies between mild delirium and mental 'gömböc-like' resilience.

“Gömböc” is produced by Korzo & Netherlands Dance Theater.
